Vimy: Canada’s Coming of Age

Experience history like never before with this exciting week!

Participants learn about Canada’s participation in the First World War, with a particular focus on the remarkable story of Vimy. During this week in Ottawa presented by the Vimy Foundation in partnership with Encounters with Canada, students will learn about how the Battle of Vimy Ridge changed our nation forever while participating in hands-on workshops. Decode battlefield maps, discover the contributions of women on the home front, find out if you are fit to be a First World War soldier, and so much more!

This memorable week includes visits to the Canadian War Museum, Parliament Hill and the Diefenbunker, as well as guided tours and commemoration ceremonies. Vimy: Canada’s Coming of Age brings students together from across the country for the experience of a lifetime!
