Born in Fredericton, Brooke is a fluently bilingual accredited business communicator and former Vimy guide. While she first learned about Vimy as an honours history student at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), a year later she had secured a position as a student guide at the Vimy Memorial Site in France. As a Board Member with The Vimy Foundation, her mandate is to share the Vimy story, strengthen the network of former guides and Vimy program participants and engage Canadians in celebrating this important milestone in our shared heritage as we mark the 100th anniversary in 2017 and beyond.
A 13-year employee of global mining company Vale, Brooke is the Manager, Governance and Change Management for the company’s base metals business. She maintains close ties to her east coast roots in her role as President of the UNB Associated Alumni and is also a proud alumni of the 2012 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference. In 2011, she was recognized as one of Sudbury’s top ’40 Under Forty’ leaders for her community involvement, particularly with the Art Gallery of Sudbury where she has served as Board Chair. Brooke holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNB, a Bachelor of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University, the ABC accreditation from the International Association of Business Communicators and Change Management Certification from Prosci.
She and her husband Craig make their home in Sudbury with their cherished English Springer Spaniels, Django and Monty.
