These mighty oaks that stand on guard
in silent remembrance of long ago,
where young lives fought and died.
A country mourns and in honour know
the richness of the sacrifice
for this land of peace and snow
The innocence lost and valour gained
on Vimy Ridge they fought the foe
for freedom and national pride.
An acorn from destruction sow,
becomes a tree with strength, and shade
where the oak and maple grow.
