Mike Finch
Internation Society for First World War Studies
Mike Finch was born in Northumberland, England. He has been a member of Pembroke College, University of Oxford since 2001, obtaining his BA Modern History in 2004 and a Master of Studies in Modern History in 2006. He is currently completing the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in History, specializing in the French colonial military of the early Third Republic. During the course of his research he has received a number of scholarships and awards, and spent the academic year 2007-8 attached to the Université Paris-I Panthéon-Sorbonne. A member of the International Society for First World War Studies, he co-organized the society’s fifth conference ‘Other Combatants, Other Fronts: Competing Histories of the First World War’ which took place at the Imperial War Museum in September 2009.
